Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 8, 2026
This policy describes what data the RetireQuest apps and this website handle. The short version: your retirement plan never leaves your device. The apps have no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
Mobile apps (iOS and Android)
The RetireQuest mobile apps collect no data whatsoever.
- Everything you enter — balances, income, expenses, scenarios — is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere.
- The mobile apps make no network calls at all. There is no server component, no account or sign-in, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no remote logging.
- The app is paid up front on the App Store or Google Play; the store purchase is the license, so no license key or activation call is ever needed on mobile.
- Uninstalling the app deletes the local database along with it.
This is why the App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected” and the Google Play data safety section declares no data collected or shared.
Desktop apps (macOS and Windows)
The desktop apps store your data exactly the same way — in a local SQLite database on your computer — and likewise contain no analytics, crash reporting, or advertising. The one difference is license activation:
- Desktop copies are activated with a purchased license key. When you activate (and periodically to re-validate), the app sends the license key you entered plus an opaque device fingerprint over HTTPS to the RetireQuest licensing API.
- The device fingerprint is a derived identifier used solely to enforce the number of seats your license allows. It does not contain your name, email, files, or any information from your retirement plan.
- No personal or financial data is ever transmitted. The licensing API sees only the key and the fingerprint.
This website
retirequest.app handles a small amount of data, and only here on the website — never in the apps:
- Anonymous usage analytics. The site uses Vercel Analytics to count page views and referrers in aggregate. It is cookieless, does not identify individual visitors, and does not track you across other sites.
- Waitlist email addresses. If you choose to join the launch waitlist, the email address you submit is stored with our email provider (Resend) and used solely to send you RetireQuest launch and product updates. It is never sold or shared for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe from any email or request removal by writing to reggieg@gmail.com.
- Hosting logs. Standard web-server access logs may be kept briefly by the hosting provider (Vercel) for security and operational purposes.
The website sets no cookies and runs no third-party ad or tracking scripts.
Children
RetireQuest is a general-audience financial planning tool and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If RetireQuest’s data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds an online feature — this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the effective date above will be revised. Material changes will also be noted in the app-store release notes for the version that introduces them.
